Central Plant Solutions:
Northrop Grumman
GMS is an Electronic Systems-approved vendor. GMS performs mechanical and plumbing projects and works with the facilities teams to propose energy-saving projects.
Capital Power Plant
GMS, on a Time and Materials basis, was hired to perform the factory assembly services on three OM chillers, each 6,000 tons which serve our nation’s capitol infrastructure.
Fort Detrick
GMS contracted with the Army to install Heat Recovery Boilers at the incinerator plant. The project led to GMS being selected for a subsequent metering project, in which the Army was able to cost account for the steam usage at the base.
USDA
GMS was awarded several mechanical projects, including installation of a cooling tower, a chiller and a low temperature freezer system. GMS was selected for these projects on a best-value approach.
Design/Build Solutions:
Andrews Air Force Base
GMS was selected on a design/build contract to replace an existing 900-ton plant with a new 1,000-ton chilled water plant, bringing efficiencies and redundancy to the new plant.
Bolling Air Force Base
GMS was selected to perform design/build services for the Dental Clinic at this base. GMS constructed a new central chilled-water plant, decentralized the building and installed VAV air distribution.
Anne Arundel Medical Center
GMS provides ongoing design/build projects and solutions for AAMC. These projects range from small steam-piping projects to turn-key equipment installations. Recently, GMS helped AAMC with a rental cooling contingency plan that involved significant electrical and mechanical planning and design.
Shore Health Care Systems, Easton & Dorchester Hospitals
GMS provides ongoing design/build projects and solutions for Shore Health Care Systems. GMS recently performed a turn-key air-cooled chiller installation to solve temperature and humidity issues in the Labor & Delivery rooms. GMS has performed various air-handling replacements, UV light installations and electrical upgrades.
Mission-Critical Infrastructure Solutions:

General Dynamics
Performed the mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning of a new 80KW UPS and cooling system. The cooling system consisted of a roof-mounted dry cooler, dual-pump package and two 12 ton up-flow close-control air-conditioning units.
Congressional Federal Credit Union
(Headquarters Building and Disaster Recovery Site)
Performed the mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning of the critical infrastructure associated with the data centers. The installation included a UPS, dry cooler, dual-pump package, back-up generator, an ATS and an emergency panel.
Calvert Memorial Hospital
Designed and installed an alternate cooling solution for an existing data center to utilize chilled water and in-row cooling units. The new system was approximately 40% less expensive than the original design, and the new system offered 33% more cooling capacity. Significant energy savings will be realized by the new solution.
NOAA, Oxford Laboratory
GMS was selected to install a mission-critical cooling infrastructure within the laboratory spaces. After completing this project ahead of schedule, GMS has been awarded a bilaterally-negotiated service agreement on the entire facility for multiple years. |
